What's New in Stony Ridge

WELCOME PAGE   CONTACT PEOPLE   MINUTES   CALENDAR   BUSINESS LIST  FESTIVAL  LOOKING BACK

The big news for me is that I have been able to get back into the website and begin updating the information.  For those who have not heard me whine about the problems, first I lost my computer and all of the memory in a power surge.  For several weeks various "experts" tried to retrieve the memory, but they had no success.  When I finally bought a new computer, I was locked out of the website server.  Tonight, everything worked perfectly and I am rejoicing.

We may not have blooming flowers yet, but we have two major harbingers of Spring--on Friday, March 12, PeeWee's will open for the season and on Monday, March 15, the KOA will open for the season.  Can flowers be far behind?

Check out the Looking Back Page.  Dave Shuman sent some pictures from Fremont Pike that he found online.  I have the pictures and the link to the website on the Looking Back Page.  Thank you, Dave.

Also, the Link Page has been reworked and many links added so please visit the page.  We now have the links to St. John's Church, Marsh's Funeral Homes,  Local Sex Offender List (Wood County Sheriff's Office) and much more.

Since technical difficulties or some cyber poltergeist have blocked my access to the Minutes Page, I will post the minutes here for now.  The name Keith Sattler should be Keith Sadler.

Quote of the Moment

Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it.

St. John's Hilltop Preschool

On Saturday, March 13 the Preschool will be hosting a Mom to Mom Sale in St. John's Parish Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Mom to Mom Sale is an indoor garage sale with gently used children's clothing, toys, strollers, cribs, and other child gear.  You can rent a table for $10 or just come to shop. Call (419)837-2223 if you have questions or would like to rent a table.

Did you know?

Did you know that since 2007 five houses in Stony Ridge have gone to Sheriff's auction?  Keith Sadler, whose house sold at auction February 21st, is organizing a rally in Stony Ridge about foreclosures.  If you want more information you can contact him at (419)931-6517.  There is also a flyer on the bulletin  board at the Post Office.

Did you know the Easter Egg Hunt will be April 3 at the Stony Ridge Park unless the weather forces us to relocate to the Township Hall?

Did you know that Deer Creek out of Mansfield has been awarded the Stony Ridge-Lemoyne sewer project?  Dates are not set yet, but there is some hope for a May start.  Currently, the hold up is in securing the final federal funds.  If all follows the current plan, we should receive letters with project information within the next month.

Did you know that Keith and Margaret LaPoint have moved to Florida?  Their house has been sold to Fred Garcia who is in the process of moving into it.

RECYCLING

The Eastwood Band Boosters are very thankful for the opportunity to serve the Stony Ridge community with their recycling needs. This is a great fund raiser for the Eastwood Band and you are helping our environment and our children's futures. Band members may work and earn band notes which can be used for band camp or for their trip that they take once every four years. This also is an opportunity for community
service hours. If you have any questions or would like to help, you can contact Lindy Eynon at (419)352-2097. Recycling is on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The trailer is located on Oak Street behind the park. The recycling program is coordinated with the Bowling Green Recycling Center and we can accept the same items that they do. A list of acceptable items are as follows:
