Our 2023 Summer Reading Program theme is "All Together Now." Recording of reading will all be done in-person in the libraries this year, so stop in to check out books and sign up for in-person programs and take-home activities!

Children (ages preschool through 6th grade) - Registration begins Monday, May 22 and recording reading for prizes begins Monday, June 5. Kids will be keeping track of their reading this year to earn brag tags and beads! Every child receives a chain and Library tag when they are registered. We will have weekly make-and-take activities, as well as in-person programs. Books are assigned the following points: picture books and ICanRead books are one point each, juvenile fiction (chapter books) and nonfiction are worth four points each. Every 10 points achieved earns a brag tag. Children will also earn beads each time they check out books at the library.

Teens (entering grades 7 - 12) - Registration begins Monday, May 22 and recording reading for drawing tickets begins Monday, June 5. Teens will keep track of the number of books they read, and set a reading goal. When they reach their goal, Teens will earn an entry in the drawing for a $75 Amazon gift card, which will be announced on Monday, July 31.

Tweens (grades 5 - 8) can also sign up for weekly Tween Challenges on Saturdays at Pemberville! These are activities designed to encourage kids to work as a team or individually to accomplish a task. Registration is required, so please call or visit the library to sign up.

Adults (ages 18 and up) - Registration and recording reading for drawing tickets begins Monday, June 5. Adults will keep track of the number of books read. This year everyone who registers will be assigned a number, so you will only have to put your assigned number on the drawing ticket. (This will save you from having to write your full name and phone number on every ticket!) Each book or ebook read or listened to equals one entry in the weekly prize drawing, and entries accumulate for the Grand Prize Drawings at the end of July. Adults can also earn one entry for every 2 hours they read to their young child. Stop by the library to view the list of prizes you could win! Adults can earn extra drawing tickets by completing weekly activity sheets or by signing up for the weekly-take-home craft. Complete all activities and enter all your reading by closing time on Saturday, July 29 for the Grand Prize Drawings, which will be announced on Monday, July 31.
