Historical Cemetery Walk 2024

This year we invite everyone on our Sixth Annual Historical Cemetery Walk! Every year we feature a different cemetery in the Eastwood School District and this year we are touring Eisenhour Cemetery in Pemberville, on October 12, 2024.

Participants will be guided along a lantern-lit path and will learn about the cemetery and the lives of five historical figures from the Pemberville/ Freedom Township area. This information is gathered by our Relatively Speaking Genealogy group and community volunteers. Tour groups start at 4:55 pm and will continue throughout the night. Our five historical figures are; Minnie Eisenhour, Bertha Gerwin, Eva Kimble, Casper Beeker, and Herbert Martin.

Each tour will be made up of 12 people. Groups will meet at Pemberville Public Library located at 375 E Front St. The library will also have memorabilia items to view and refreshments to enjoy! This is a free event, and all are welcome to attend.

The 4:55 pm tour this year is reserved for those who cannot walk through the cemetery. Patrons will still be bused out to the cemetery, but everyone will walk a short distance to a theater style seating and that is where they will hear about the cemetery and our historical people. If you find it difficult to walk on uneven ground for long periods of time, this is the perfect tour for you!

Registration is required; visit the library to register. For more information, call the library at 419-287-4012.
