The last open day for the downtown Luckey Branch Library location will be Saturday, July 30, 2022. The library will be closed for the month of August to give library staff time to pack, move, empty out the downtown location, and organize the new building. Luckey Branch Library materials may be returned to either Pemberville Public Library or Stony Ridge Branch Library. Any Luckey Branch Library patron who has requested library materials will be able to pick up those materials at Pemberville Public Library during the month of August when the items become available for them.
We are asking for help from the community to move books, items, and furniture to the new library location. We will need help physically moving boxes, as well needing trucks, trailers, and tools. We would like to have the community help us on Thursday, August 11 and Friday, August 12, with additional dates of Thursday, August 18 and Friday, August 19 if needed. Those who are interested in helping can call Luckey Branch Library to sign up at 419-833-6040. Library Staff will be calling volunteers the week of August 11 to coordinate moving times based on volunteers' availability.
We have purchased all new shelves and furniture for the new location. We will be reusing some of the current shelves and furniture at our Pemberville and Stony Ridge locations. The rest of the shelves and furniture from the downtown Luckey location will be put into storage at the new location until a sale is organized.
Please join us for our Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 10, 2022! We are planning a ribbon cutting ceremony to start at 10:00 a.m., and the Village of Luckey is sponsoring family fun activities with inflatables and food from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. We hope the entire Eastwood Community will join us for this celebration!
